# API Docs: Image

## **Introduction**

GGWP provides an API you can use to process image data and integrate moderation actions directly into your application workflow. This product is designed to detect and classify a wide range of harmful or policy-violating content present in images, helping you protect your community and keep your platform safe.

## Configurable Settings

You can tailor the Image Moderation API to the needs of your platform by selecting which types of content to flag or block. Settings can be configured in two ways:

* **At onboarding (recommended):** Share your requirements with your GGWP Account Manager, and your configuration will be applied at the API level.
* **Per API call:** Override or customize settings using request headers (see the [Image Moderation API](/api-docs-image/standard-package/image-moderation-api.md) section for details).

In addition, if you would like to enable GGWP’s **Automod service** (automated enforcement actions across your platform), please contact your GGWP Account Manager.

Each supported category listed in the **Model Support** section can be individually enabled or disabled.

## **Model Support**

The Image Moderation API supports detection across the following categories:

1. **Explicit Nudity / Sexual Activity**\
Images depicting sexual acts, genitals, or explicit sexual content. These are the highest-risk nudity cases.
2. **Non-Explicit Nudity**\
Partial or implied nudity (e.g., underwear, revealing clothing, artistic nudity) that may not be pornographic but could be inappropriate for your platform.
3. **Hate Imagery**\
Symbols, gestures, or images associated with hate groups, extremist organizations, or discriminatory ideologies.
4. **Violence**\
Depictions of physical aggression such as fighting, shooting, or assault, including weapons pointed at people.
5. **Gore**\
Graphic images of severe injury, mutilation, excessive blood, or depictions of suicide and self-harm. Intended to capture highly disturbing or unsafe content.
6. **Weapons**\
Guns, knives, explosives, or related accessories that may suggest weapon promotion or unsafe behavior.
7. **Alcohol / Drugs**\
Images showing alcohol, drug use, or paraphernalia, including recreational or illegal substances.
8. **Gambling**\
Visuals related to casinos, betting, slot machines, or other gambling activities.
9. **Profanity**\
Hand signals or visual gestures considered obscene or offensive (e.g., the middle finger).

**Note:** In addition to the above, custom categories can be created upon request to match your platform’s specific policies. Please contact your GGWP Account Manager for details.
